First something about us: we are the typically hectic and loving American family. Most of our free time is spent together taking short trips to favorite places on Long Island and in New York City, watching movies, playing games, and trying new recipes in our kitchen. We have been in our current home since September 1998 when we welcomed our first au pair into our family.
Charles has been a computer programmer for over twenty years; he began to work in that field before starting college. He's worked in projects automating such widely ranging areas as analysis of the Japanese language, categorization of diamonds, and financial trading systems. Kaylee works as a publicist in the book publishing industry. She brings fiction and non-fiction works to public attention and works with writers from America as well as all over the world, both famous and not so famous.
Charles and Kaylee met in college, attending Stony Brook University on Long Island, only thirty miles east of their new home in Huntington. Both have completed their undergraduate degrees with Kaylee having completed some work towards a Master's in English Literature. Charles own major subject in college was Philosophy, with a minor in Journalism.
Sean and Devin, our sons; are two very different kids. Sean is an extremely loving, very funny thirteen-year old boy with an older brother's tendency to try and take care of his brother (even if he's not quite ready to take care of himself). Devin is a feisty, independent nine year-old, who can astonish us with sudden bursts of maturity.
Our hopes and goals are to raise these children to be happy, healthy and strong. We try to sense where Sean’s and Devin's strengths and interests lie, and encourage those activities while introducing them to other subjects as well. We aim to raise children proud of their own heritage and traditions while being, at the same time, citizens of a broadly diverse community of many backgrounds and beliefs. We bring our children to museums and cultural events and read to them from a wide selection of books in our library while carefully controlling their television watching.

Hello. Our active family of five are very excited to welcome you to our happy family. I am a single mother and I have one son aged eight and three daughters aged six and four (twins!) My eldest two children are in school Monday - Friday and the twins attend pre-school two mornings a week. Our home environment is very informal and easy going but raising my children in a respectful, loving, caring and supportive environment is very important to me. I strive to encourage my children's creativity and resourcefulness while ensuring a safe and healthy environment.  It is my expectation that you will also support these guiding principles. I believe that it is most important to encourage and maintain an open, honest and supportive relationship for the duration of the cultural exchange.

We are an outdoorsy family - love bicycling, walking and we are fortunate enough to live near the shore and enjoy spending time at the beach where we enjoy boating, swimming, boardwalks, amusement parks, bike paths and nature trails. As a family we also enjoy arts and crafts, baking and reading. The children also have their own activity schedules.

An au pairs typical responsibilities in our home would begin at about 8:00am and conclude at about 5:00pm Monday thru Friday. This would include preparing meals, assisting getting children dressed and washed, walking the older children to and from the bus stop, playing with and engaging the younger children in developmentally appropriate activities. Sometimes I will need help in doing the children's laundry, straightening their rooms and driving them to their lessons/activities.

I look forward to you becoming a valuable member of our family and most importantly a "big sister" to my children.

I am a full time mother and am really looking for a "big sister" for the girls to play with and be looked after by while I am not around.  Our family consists of four, me and my husband and the two girls who are 8 and 4 years old. We are an international family, my husband is originally from Poland and I am from Korea. Our daughters understand Korean and French and we would like to encourage them to learn as many foreign languages as possible. Our eldest daughter is in 3rd grade at elementary school, she is a very easygoing child with a huge imagination and will make up games all the time. She is sporty too and loves to play tennis, swim and run. The youngest is very active - in mind as well as physically, she is talking constantly and is a smart girl. We are an easy going and casual family and it is important for our au pair to have a cheerful personality and have some cooking ability.

We live in a town about 19 miles west of Boston, Massachusetts. It is a friendly but quiet place. There is a lake where you can go swimming in the summer and a state park, which is great for picnics, and in the winter there is cross-country skiing.

#10020506Springfield, Virginia.

There are four members of our household, Matt, the father, is a Major in the Marine Corps. Nicole, the mother, is a Family Practice Physician, currently working part-time at a Military Medical Clinic.
Marvin, son, is currently 3 and a half years old, and Myra, our daughter, is a little over a year old. Our primary family activities arc centered around the children. Weekends are normally spent doing various activities with the children to include going to the park, going to museums, visiting friends and family, and playing.
Both Marvin and Myra are active, healthy children who keep us going. Both are early risers, normally waking up around 7:00 AM. After breakfast the children normally play together, in and around the house. Lunch normally is served around noon, and both children normally take an afternoon nap from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. After dinner, we normally give the children their baths, and then read books or play games prior to going to bed. Myra is normally in bed by 8:00 PM and Marvin normally goes to sleep around 9:00 PM. We have several friends in the area who have children around the same age as ours, and we try to meet with them at least once a month. Additionally, there are several children of similar age in our neighborhood that our children play with.
Being in the military, Matt has had experience with people from numerous other cultures. Nicole spent a summer traveling throughout Europe, experiencing various European cultures. Additionally, both Matt and Nicole have worked closely with people from various Latin American countries while living in California and the Washington, D.C. area.
We live in 3 bedroom, 3 bath townhome in Springfield, VA. The family sleeping quarters are on the top floor, the kitchen and living room are on the middle floor and there is a finished basement below that. Currently there is a full size bed, dresser, phone, TV and bathroom located in the finished basement.
There are few specific rules we would have for an Au pair living in our home. Perhaps the most significant would be that we don't allow smoking in our home. Other than that, simple courtesies and actions that protect the welfare of the children are our primary concerns.
Springfield, VA is located 15 miles south of the Nation's Capitol, Washington, D.C., and there are numerous cultural and social items of interest. There are the nation’s monuments, and the multiple Smithsonian Museums within a 45 minute train ride from our home. Finally, there are numerous outdoor and water sports activities that can be pursued in and around our area.

#10020505Virginia,

Hi there, we are a family from Maryland, Virginia and we are looking for an special au pair to come and enjoy the countless benefits that living near to the nation’s capital (Washington DC) can bring! We live approximately 20 miles away, which is nothing in American terms! There are a number of colleges and universities located in Washington DC and it’s nearby suburbs for you to study your educational courses. Moreover, there are lots of cultural opportunities: the National Gallery, the Smithsonian Institute, the John F. Kennedy Center for performing arts and countless concert venues.  Also add to this the FBI headquarters, the Whitehouse and countless monuments and you have a very exciting city!

Okay, we have told you all about where we live, what about our family?  We have two fabulous children, our son is 8 years old and our daughter is 6. We both leads very busy working lives and need a special person to nurture our children. Our son is extremely verbal and bright, but he is still and 8 year old boy and loves cuddles and playing sports. Our daughter is extremely social and has lots of friends.  She is a typical little girl and loves her Barbie dolls and dressing up.  Because we cannot be with our children all the time, we are looking for a special person to be gentle, loving but disciplined and organized. We look forward to welcoming such a person to our home!

#10020602New York.

Our family has always considered itself to be citizens of the world.  Before we started a family, my husband and I studied economics and travelled extensively. From each course that we took, each country that we visited and each person that we met, we learned something valuable that has influenced how we conduct our lives. We would like to pass that appreciation of the world and its people onto our children. Our family has an international composition through adoption. Our twin sons were adopted from Hungary at the age of 5 months and they’re absolutely wonderful. My husband is an Economist and I am currently a homemaker. Since the boys arrived, I have stayed home with them but seeing that they’ll be attending pre-school, I’ll be going back to work full-time as an accountant.  Our goals for our children have always been and always will be that they be the best person that they can be and that they fully utilize the talents they have been given – always try your best. We live in a small town north of New York City. As a family we like to go hiking, swimming, ice-skating and cycling.  We love doing things together as a family.  Respect, patience and understanding are the qualities that are needed to make this host family / au pair relationship work.  We look forward to having an au pair as a member of our family for a year and it would be a wonderful way to assist us in opening the world to our children in a very tangible way.

We are looking for a loving and very active au pair to share in our busy life. We are a very active family living in Potomac Maryland, a very -beautiful suburb near Washington DC, the home of the president of the United States (even though he has never come to visit us). Washington is filled with history and wonderful museums, and they are all free! We moved here less than two years ago and we are so happy here. We have all made wonderful new friends, we love our neighborhood, and the weather is much better here than in New Jersey where we used to live. We have a lovely yard and my husband is very excited about planting a garden this spring.
We have three wonderful (and noisy) boys. James is 14 years old and is a very independent kid. He doesn't really need an au pair to take care of him but he is a very big help around the house. He loves basketball, basketball and basketball. Nicholas is 12 and is the real character in our house. He loves to play ice hockey, he hates homework, and his favorite activity is teasing his brothers. Jose is our third son, and although he is only 7, he thinks he is 17. He is fun and funny and loves everything and anything his brother’s love. As you can imagine, with three sons, sports is very important in our house. We are either playing sports or watching sports. My husband loves hanging out with the boys and cheering on his favorite sports teams; most of them are New York teams since my husband grew up in New York and the boys were born in New York. Besides watching sports, my husband Gabriel loves to cook and the boys love to help him in the kitchen. They love to cook and I get to clean up after them.

Both my husband and I work very hard but we both love our work; he works with older adults and I work with children. I am the principal of a private school in Rockville Maryland. The school is only five minutes away, which is great since I work very hard. The boys all go to the same school and it is wonderful to have a job where I also get to see my children. My husband is the director of a senior living facility. He treats these older adults with such respect and dignity and they love him at work. My children have been to work with my husband and have learned about being compassionate and caring. I am so proud of the way they treat everyone in their lives, young and old. The only problem is how sometimes they treat each other - after all, they are brothers! Over the years we have appreciated having an au pair and babysitters from different places and different religions. It has given my boys a better understanding of the bigger world and an appreciation of different cultures.
I hope that you will choose to join our family. We can't wait for you to join us in Maryland.

We are an active and noisy family and are looking for someone outgoing and confident to join it!  We have our 6-year-old twins, a boy and a girl and also a 9-year-old boy. The twins seem to have a very special bond between them, which is fascinating to watch. Our son is at school through the day and our twins attend pre-school 5 mornings a week and are very tired when they return home in the afternoons. Our elder son is about to start 5th grade. His passion is basketball and he loves to play and practise and since we put a hoop up in our back yard he has never been so happy!

My husband comes from a close-knit family who all live in the Boston area where we live now.  Rarely a day goes by without aunts, uncles and grandparents coming round. We have large family parties for all occasions and there is always a birthday party to celebrate. We would hope that our au pair would like to be part of this. Our whole family is very supportive and are all looking forward to meeting a person from a different culture as all our previous nannies have been from the USA. We are looking to share cultural differences with you and learn all about your home country. Our son is very curious about other regions in the world.  In summary we extend our invitation to share our home and hope that you will become and integral part of our family.

Washington DC, New York City and Baltimore are only two hours away from our house. We have had six previous au pairs and absolutely loved the wonderful experience we have had with all of them. We are both working professionals, my husband being a teacher and I am an accountant. The children are wonderful, intelligent, kind and active. We try and involve them in as many activities as possible, but we also encourage them to read, play board games, baking cakes and other "quieter" games. We are looking to find a special person to help us cherish and nurture our children. I have two children, a boy aged 10 and a girl aged 7 years old.  We place strong emphasis on education, love and discipline. We need someone who is willing to help our children with their homework and is academically motivated. Our son loves to swim and is on his school's swim team. He is very loving and quite sensitive so needs someone who will be patient and kind with him and in return he will love you unconditionally. Our daughter is very feisty and loves playing with her friends and enjoys arts and crafts.

We have had 5 au pairs before so we know all about having a young person in our home and have always really enjoyed our experiences. We have a really beautiful room for an au pair with a huge walk-in closet, separate bathroom, kitchen area and separate entrance. We live in a safe and pretty suburb in Washington DC and have a swimming pool which our 9 month old puppy loves! We live a ten minute drive from the American University where a number of our au pairs have studied. We also have coffee bars, restaurants and a huge mall within walking distance.

Pojkarna går i skolan 5 dagar i veckan.

#09122208Mountainside, New Jersey.

We live in a pretty suburban town called Mountainside, New Jersey. Approximately 25 miles outside of New York City. My husband is Andy, and we have two children, Amanda age 10 and Allie who is 8. Both children attend public school and are picked up in the morning (7:45am) by the school bus and dropped off in the afternoon (3:15 pm) as well.

The children have after school activities, which they need to be driven to: art class, karate, girl scout meetings, etc. Presently we have a car specifically for your use in taking the children to their activities, as well as for your use.

I work in New York City for a construction company. I'm a project manager for commercial interior projects. My hours are usually 6:30 to 7pm.  Andy owns a gift shop down at the Jersey Shore, which is only open from April through October of each year. We have a house at the shore, which we travel to on weekends during the summer to spend time with him, as he stays down at the shore most of the summer. (It's approximately 2 1/2 hours from home.) The children usually go to summer camp for 4 weeks, then we spend a couple of weeks at the shore before school starts again in September.

The kids love to be outside. We have a park nearby which we take "nature hikes" in. They ride their bicycles, play in the yard, go to the beach, dig for worms, the usual! We don't like the kids to watch a lot of TV, although we set aside time for them before bedtime for a couple of programs. We are also very conscious of trying to eat healthily and don't eat fast food (McDonalds, Burger King, etc.) We like the children to eat fruit as much as possible in lieu of cookies, chips, etc. The kids love to cook (especially something like cookies) and help out in the kitchen and around the house. I have to say, the kids are very responsible, and well 'behaved (on most days) and we are very proud of them.

We've had very good luck with the Au Pair system, and just recently said goodbye to our 4th au pair. We will stay in touch, and already miss her. She was from Norway and we enjoyed learning about her culture. I think she enjoyed our culture as well. The kids liked teaching her things, which many times she found silly. She was very amused at the way we celebrate Halloween!

Our goal is to share our home with another wonderful au pair and learn about her culture and customs. Please let me know if there's anything else I can share with you to help you during your selection process.

#09122209EXBoston.

Come live with us in Boston! We actually live about 15 minutes (by car, 30 minutes by subway) from the city, in a suburb called Newtown. We moved into a beautiful Victorian house in two years ago when we needed a little extra room for the twins who were on their way.

My name is Palmer and my husband's name is Daniel. We have three darling girls and a newborn boy: Willa is almost 5, Daphne and McLane are 3 1/2, and Steve was born on 2/25/04. Daphne and McLane are identical twins but were actually born on different days -- one on the 15th of January and the other on the 16th. Willa is quite a character - full of curiosity and laughter. The twins are also very good natured and playful. All three play very well together, but are also happy doing their own thing.
The baby is 4 months now and is full of smiles. He loves to gurgle and bang a rattle. Every week he changes a little and learns something new, so it's an exciting time. Daniel and I both work full time (for different companies). He's a Vice President of Sales and I'm a Vice President/General Manager in my family's business. Daniel’s job will require him to travel more and more so he will probably be away two nights a week. I rarely travel for business, but usually take a class one night a week.

When we are not working, we love to take walks with our kids - there is a great playground on a river close to the house. In general, we're a pretty active family. Daniel and I love sports - tennis, golf, skiing, biking etc. and love to be outdoors. Before we had children, we also traveled quite a lot - mostly in Europe, though we also have been to New Zealand and Australia.

From our traveling experiences, we have come to appreciate and be interested in different cultures which is why the au pair program is so appealing to us. Our first au pair, Rocio, was from Ecuador and taught Willa many words in Spanish. Our second au pair was from Thailand and taught the girls how to say thank you in Thai while pressing her hands together. She also has taught us a lot about Thai cooking and culture. Our last two au pairs have been from German. Both were patient and warm and taught the children many new skills. Perhaps you can teach us something new!

We hope you will like not only our family, but also the wonderful area we live in. Boston is a great city and from here, you can explore New England to the North and New York City to the South. In addition, there are many au pairs in the area so you will have the opportunity to make friends.
Though we lead busy lives, we are pretty easy going. We keep a tidy house, appreciate humor, honesty and, of course, a lot of enthusiasm for our children!

Dear Prospective Au Pair,
The ideal au pair for our family will be energetic, loving and firm--someone who can love a little boy but enforce appropriate boundaries. She should love to play and work on arts/crafts and musical projects. She should be fairly independent, and be comfortable on her own. Ideally, she will be happy to spend time out of doors, and be interested in sports--perhaps even learning to ski.
Let me introduce our family, which consists Kevin (father), Janet (mother), Jake 4 years old and Kevin’s two daughters from his first marriage: Amy (age 20, in college) and Marie (age 17), our two yellow, Labrador retriever dogs are an important part of our family.
We live in Boulder, Colorado, a beautiful city of about 125,000 population sitting at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Boulder, is home to the University of Colorado, Naropa University and Front Range Community College.  It is a 30-minute drive to Denver, the state capital, and a one-hour drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. We have a wonderful climate with 300 days of sunshine a year. Boulder is famous for its downtown pedestrian mall and for the parks that surround the city with many mils of trails for hiking and biking. The recreation center is a few blocks from our home, offering swimming and all kinds of workout options. We have a huge yard, a large vegetable garden and a hot tub. You will have your own room with a telephone and your own bathroom.
We have a second home (condo) in Vail, Colorado, a world famous ski resort located two hours from Boulder. Kevin’s daughter Amy lives in Vail full time. Kevin’s firm has an office in Boulder and Vail, and Kevin spends quite a bit of time in Vail. We all spend most weekends in Vail during the winter.
Kevin works long days and occasionally he works evening and weekends if he is preparing for trial. Janet works as an environmental planner and she works approximately 30 hours per week.
We are an active family and enjoy all kinds of outdoor pursuits: skiing, biking, hiking, running, swimming, tennis. All of us practice yoga regularly. We also enjoy music and reading. Kevin is Jewish, Janet is Christian. We are not especially religious in the sense of going to church/temple on a regular basis. We do have spiritual beliefs and we strive to be good, honest, loving and supportive. Marie sings with an a capella group and rehearses every Monday evening. We have a piano in Boulder. We have computers in Boulder and Vail with high-speed Internet access.

We are looking forward to sharing our home with an Au Pair, who will help us care for our son Sony while enjoying the Washington DC area. We live in a wonderful neighbourhood in McLean, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC. The city centre is only a short drive away.

Our neighbourhood and surrounding area are ideal for walking and jogging along tree-lined paths. We live in a wonderful, friendly international community. The community centre and library is a short walk away through the local park. The community centre has tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, theatre, classes and other interesting cultural offerings. There are many local colleges and universities that are accessible through public transportation or by car.

Sony is 6 years old.  He loves to play, to go out for walks and to talk. We enjoy singing and reading to him, play with his toys and discover the world. We would like our Au Pair to enjoy being part of our family and taking care of our baby. We especially want someone that is happy, patient, loving and open.

I am a single mom of three active and energetic young boys. We live in California and our house is right by the beach where we spend a lot of time. We also enjoy hiking and playing at the park on weekends. Some weekends the boys go to visit their father and their grandparents, but most of the time they spend the weekends with me. They visit their father once a week an on occasional weekends. Their grandparents also live close and they enjoy visiting them on the occasional weekend. The boys are very outgoing, social and sporty and the au pairs should be someone who likes to be active. There is lots of entertainment available for the au pair and it would be almost impossible for her to get board in such a vibrant and exciting environment.

We are looking for an au pair who is mature and responsible enough to make decisions without having to consult me. The au pair should be someone who can instil discipline when needed, but also able to show love, respect and compassion towards my boys.

Hello!  I’m a divorced mother and I have a ten-year old daughter.  We live in the suburbs to New York and it’s about an hours commuting to mid-town Manhattan. My daughter is a lovely, well-behaved, sweet, intelligent and thoughtful girl who attends a private school nearby.  She is a very conscientious student and is curious about the world around her.

We have a very open and honest relationship and our home is our sanctuary. My daughter has a wonderful relationship with her father, half brother and sister and they visit one another regularly. Although I am a full time mom, I also own a handful of businesses in the area and a farm and I work mainly in the afternoon until late at night and this is the main reason why I need an au pair. Ideally I’m hoping to find a happy, mature, self-reliant and ambitious au pair. The au pair will be a friend and companion to both my daughter and myself and be welcome into our happy home.

I am Becky. My husband is Gabriel and we have three sons; Joshua, Oliver and Alex. Joshua is our oldest son at 2 1/2 years old. Oliver is 13 months old, and Alex is 1 month.
Our children have been attending a daycare facility while my husband and I are at work. At the boy's current facility, they have story time, music and coloring time, and free play. Joshua currently has physical therapy and that the therapist comes to his daycare. They will also come to our home once the au pair is placed.
I am a business development officer for a bank in Louisville. I assist clients with financing and deposit needs. My husband is a pipe fitter that specializes in commercial and industrial refrigeration. We both work no more than 45 hours a week.
The extent of our family's experiences with other cultures is somewhat limited. My sister's husband is an Asian Indian so we have learned a small amount of his culture. In the Louisville community, there is a growing Hispanic culture. I have worked with some the Hispanic community is assisting in their banking needs.
We have just built a new home in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, a suburb of Louisville, Kentucky, and we should be moving in a couple of weeks. Our new home is located on ten acres. The au pair will have their own bedroom and bathroom located on the second floor of our home. Their room will also have access to satellite television and a telephone. There is a play area for the kids in the basement along with a family room and home media room. Our home also has an in ground swimming pool.
We believe that the au pair should be like a member of our family. We desire someone who is a non smoker. Neither myself nor my husband smoke and there are serve allergies in are family that require the au pair to be a non smoker. We understand that the au pair will need free time to socialize and ask that during the week they be in the house by 11:00 PM. This allows for my husband and I get settled for the night and for us to have the piece of mind that our children will be well cared for during the day. On the weekend we can be more flexible in the time that we ask them to be in for the night.
Our home is located about 20 miles south of Louisville. Louisville has a thriving arts community along with an active college and minor league sports schedule. There are several large malls in the area for shopping.

We are looking for an au pair who will take care of Sam and Sandy while Tom is at work and while I pursue my search for a new job. We expect the au pair to work most of her hours during the week as we like to spend time to other as a family on the weekends.

The typical schedule for the day is as follows: The au pair will wake up Sam and Sandy at 7 am, prepare breakfast and get Sam to the bus at 7:45 am. The au pair will then drive Sandy school at 8:10 am. Depending on the day, the au pair will also pick up Sandy from school, either at 12 pm or 4 pm and meet Sam at the bus stop in front of our house at 4:30 pm. Activities that we enjoy include going to our neighbourhood playground, having play dates with friends, playing tennis and soccer, and ice-skating, sledding and skiing in the winter, going to museums, sailing and swimming in the summer.

We also ask that you help with buying food and supplies for Sandy and Sam (diapers, shampoo, milk, juice, fruit, bread, etc.) We have a grocery store within walking distance so it is easy to go with Sam and Sandy We also ask that you keep their rooms neat, pick up toys at the end of the day, change bed linens and towels weekly, give them baths, prepare lunches for school and do their laundry.

In general, after the kids get to school, your mornings will be free and most nights after 7 pm, with the exception of a Friday or Saturday night, when Paul and I may go out without the kids. We also enjoy meeting the friends of our au pair, so we will encourage you to ask your friends to come to our house for meals or to watch movies or hang out. On the weekends, we will invite you to join in our activities. In the fall and spring, we often work in the garden or around the house or go on a small excursion with the children. Both Paul and I enjoy playing sports, including golf, tennis, and ice-skating. Occasionally we go to a baseball or ice hockey game. In the summer, we usually go away on the weekends to Fishers Island, New York or to our house in Blue Hill, Maine.

Your living accommodations are very comfortable. In addition to your own room, you will have your own bathroom. Our house is large, so you will have all the privacy you would like.

We are looking for an au pair with a high level of energy, initiative, maturity and creativity. Other attributes we would like in an au pair include a sense of humour, flexibility, athleticism, neatness and kindness. And, of course, we are looking for an au pair who loves working with young children, likes the idea of living in a beautiful city, wants to experience the United States, and wants to be part of our family for a year.

We look forward to meeting you!

Båda flickorna går i förskola fyra dagar i veckan.

My husband and I have been married for ten years and we have four children. We have recently moved to California in a semi-rural area and our home it situated on two acres with many beautiful trees and flowers.  We are pretty close to the town of San Fransisco, which has a variety of shops, bakeries and coffee shops.  My husband and I both work for family owned businesses with flexible hours and we never work weekends.

Our eldest son will begin school at home this year.  He loves to ride his dirt bike, play video games, watch movies and listen to music. Our second son on the other hand is quite a little man! He loves to help out around the house, in the garage and with his baby sister. He is very athletic and likes just about any sport. Our third son is also a very loving little boy who’s just reached the stage in his life that he has a need to argue about almost everything except his bedtime! The most important thing in his life right now is his little race cars. Our fourth child is a girl who is always happy and smiling. The only time she cries is when she’s hungry or needs to be changed.

Our family is small, but good.  We have one son, aged 8 who is quite verbal and engaging. He loves to read, watch videos about wildlife, loves to sing, asks a lot of questions and negotiates very well. My wife and myself immigrated from Thailand 25 years ago and settle down in New Haven to start our careers and our family.  I am a practicing physician and clinical professor and my wife practices in Environmental law.  We are extremely dedicated to our jobs and to our family life.  Our home is in a quiet and safe residential area of New Haven, uptown from the Yale University campus, which is frequented by joggers and strollers because of its wide streets and architecturally interesting houses.  We do believe that our au pair will be an integral part of our family, our community, and our city.  With these principles, we welcome a new member to our family.
